During the week-long initiative a host of Government, business and independent organisations will gather to celebrate and champion the nation’s 4.6 million small businesses.
A series of discussions, web seminars and free advice sessions will take place in an attempt to encourage entrepreneurship and inspire business confidence and innovation.
Earlier this week event leaders urged small business owners to maintain ‘a stiff upper lip’ during the economic downturn.
Commenting on the event, Chairman of the British
Chambers of Commerce, David Frost, said: ‘National Small Business Week 2008 demonstrates
to small firms that they have a committed group of supporters with the
resources available to help them prosper.
‘Together we are capable of making a real difference to the millions of
existing small businesses. We can also create further opportunities for
entrepreneurs and enterprising people looking to pursue their ambitions.’
